Community Collaborative Art
The Hands Project: Building Self, Building Community – MIT; 1998.
An eight-foot globe installation
created by 300 people from the M.I.T. community. Each individual’s
hand-gesture of community was formed into a plaster cast; these
multiple expressions became the basis for the community globe
sculpture. The artwork was visioned, created, and built in
collaboration with many parts of the MIT community, and was
exhibited for three months in different sites throughout the
University.
[Sponsored and funded
by the M.I.T. Board of Chaplains.]
