Hands of Light – Detroit
Jewish Federation; 2000.
Two hundred twenty-five Jewish
seventh graders and senior citizens from eight different local
communities explored Chanukah and how our passionate action can
partner with G-d to create a miracle against all odds. Based on
their own “mitzvot” (good deeds), they made plaster casts of their
hands in gestures espressing how they touch the world. These cast
hands were put onto a six-foot globe sculpture with a mosaic large
menorah in the center.
[Funded by the
Detroit Jewish Federation.]
